iOS and Android app development, with AI features where they help

We design and build mobile apps for iOS and Android, natively or with Flutter or React Native when one codebase for both platforms makes more sense. AI features, such as chat that answers from your own content or reading a photographed form into fields, go in where they save the user a step, not by default. You get the app published in the App Store and Google Play, with the source code and, if the app needs one, a backend and admin panel.

Deliverables

What you get

  • 01

    Scope and screen designs

A written scope and a clickable prototype agreed before development starts, so the estimate rests on what the app actually does.

  • 02

    The app

Native iOS and Android apps, or one Flutter or React Native codebase, chosen by what the app needs from the device and who will maintain it afterwards.

  • 03

    Backend and admin panel

APIs, a database and an admin panel for managing content, users and orders when the app needs them, built to fit the systems you already run.

  • 04

    AI features where they help

Chat that answers from your own content, search that understands plain questions, and document capture that reads a photographed receipt or form into fields, using Google Cloud Vision or a multimodal model.

  • 05

    Store release

App Store and Google Play submission, including the listings, the privacy disclosures each store requires, and replies to reviewer questions.

  • 06

    Handover and maintenance

Source code in your GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket account, build and release instructions, and updates for new OS versions if you want us to keep maintaining the app.

How it runs

The steps, in order

  1. 1

    Scope

We agree who the app is for, what it must do at launch, and what waits for a later version.

  2. 2

    Design

Screen flows and a clickable prototype, tried with a few real users where possible, before any code is written.

  3. 3

    Build in short cycles

Test builds reach your own phone through TestFlight and Google Play testing tracks as features are finished, so your feedback arrives while changes are still cheap.

  4. 4

    Release and support

We handle store submission, watch crash reports after launch, and fix what shows up.

FAQ

App development: common questions

Native, Flutter or React Native: which should we choose?

Native iOS and Android give the most direct access to device features and each platform's conventions, at the cost of two codebases. Flutter and React Native share one codebase across both, which usually lowers build and maintenance effort for apps that are mostly forms, lists and content. We recommend one after seeing the feature list and knowing who will maintain the app.

What drives the cost of an app?

The number of screens and user roles, integrations with other systems such as payments, booking or your CRM, whether a backend and admin panel are needed, and whether both platforms ship at launch. AI features add model usage as a running cost. A written scope is the only basis for a firm number, which is why we write one first.

How long does it take to build an app?

It depends mostly on the scope and on how quickly designs get approved; app store review adds time that nobody controls. A small app with one user role moves much faster than one with payments, several roles and integrations. The schedule is set together with the scope.

Should our app have AI features?

Only where they remove a step for the user. Reading a photographed form into fields, or answering questions from your own help content, often qualifies. A general chatbot added because competitors have one usually does not, and it adds a running cost.

Who owns the code and the store listings?

The code sits in a repository under your account, and the app is published from your own Apple and Google developer accounts. Ownership terms are written into the contract before work starts.
